A new structure is being planned for the central museum of the Perm Region. bogner.cc has developed the museological basis for the international architectural competition, as well as guidelines for a new presentation of the collection. Decision of the Jury: The 1st and 2nd prize are equally divided between Bernaskoni (Moskau) and Valerio Olgiati (Schweiz).
In addition to applied arts from advanced cultures up to present day, a collection of European Old Masters as well as Russian art including contemporary pieces, the Perm State Art Gallery houses an outstanding collection of Perm wooden sculptures characteristic for Russian folk art, especially of the Perm region.
Since the first half of the twentieth century, the artworks have been exhibited in the vacant cathedral of Perm which is now to be restored to the church. For the Gallery collections, a new structure is planned that will introduce Perm as modern venue in the international museum landscape, and establish it as cultural centre of both city and region.
