In collaboration with the museum team, bogner.cc developed in 2005 a thematic concept as well as spatial and functional programmes, including a rough cost estimate for the construction of a new Provincial Museum of Vorarlberg. This structure is to be erected on the site of the present building in connection with neighbouring regional government offices. Based on preliminary concepts developed by bogner.cc the province of Vorarlberg has organized an international architectural competition.
The jury assembled in December 2007. Winning project was the draft of the architects Cukrowicz Nachbaur, Bregenz.
Construction works have started in April 2010, the opening is planned for 2013.
