Joanneum, Agriculture Museum, Stainz Castle, Stainz (A)
Kategorie: Museological supervision

Auftraggeber: Landesmuseum Joanneum GmbH, Graz
Team: Dieter Bogner, Martina Zerovnik
Zeitraum: 2007-2009
Eröffnung: September 19, 2009
In cooperation with the museum team, bogner.cc curated the reorganisation of the agriculture museum at Stainz Castle. The Castle is also home to the hunting museum, that is part of the Joanneum universal museum as well. The presentation of the hunting museum collection was curated by bogner.cc and opened in 2006.
One highlight of the agricultural collection is models of modern farming equipment, that Joanneum founder, Archduke Johann, had made after original items to advance industrialisation of Styrian farming and to make the farmers’ work easier. The reorganisation revolves around this central theme, focusing on the conflicting fields of pre-industrial and industrialised production and their consequences in the present day.
Topics of cultural history, interactive media, and focused object displays complement each other to convey a subtly differentiated picture of agriculture between romance and reality.
