bogner.cc assisted the architectural office Coop Himmelb(l)au in the competition for the creation of a new exhibition area for the Islamic collection located in “la Cour Visconti” tract of the Louvre in Paris. The challenge for bogner.cc was to develop a museological and technical concept meeting visitor needs, collection requirements and state-of-the-art exhibition standards. As competition entry, Coop Himmelb(l)au designed an architectural structure for the Islamic world and its art, drawing inspiration from the “Jardin des plaisirs”, the monolithic form of the Cour Visconti and the spiral as symbol of changing perspectives of space and time.
