Natur.Park.Museum Grottenhof, Kaindorf/Sulm (A)
Kategorie: Museological supervision
Auftrag: Concept, spatial and functional programme for the creation of a Nature Park Museum. Overall supervision of realisation by architects, media planners, graphic designers, and cost monitoring
Auftraggeber: Grottenhof Naturparkzentrum, Kaindorf an der Sulm
Team: Dieter Bogner, Katharina Knoll
Zeitraum: 2007-2009
Eröffnung: June 27, 2009
bogner.cc conceived the Natur.Park.Museum Grottenhof (since 2011 REGIONEUM) located in the South Styrian Wine Country as a central base for visitors to the region at the visitors’ centre. On 1 000 sm, the new museum shows the region’s diversity of landscape and culture and arouses visitors’ interest in experiencing the region at first hand.
The exhibits are interpreted by means of innovative presentation methods and media technologies. An eleven-metre-wide panorama wall shows impressive images of the landscape, interactive media tables guide visitors through the archaeological sites from the Hallstatt, Celtic and Roman periods, combined with audio stations that relate stories from the region. A multitouch children’s table is the centrepiece of the exhibition and unique in Austria. With the aid of the old photo album medium, the Styrian “Stube” gives an insight into the history of the region in the twentieth century.
One exhibition room is dedicated to globetrotter and researcher Bruno Baumann from Kaindorf, shows parts of his collection of Asiatic and Oceanic art and cult objects in the year’s cycle.
