Wilhelmshoehe Palace, Kassel (D)
Kategorie: Reorganisation of the collections
Auftrag: Spatial and functional programme and preliminary concept for the presentation of the state art collections at Wilhelmshoehe Palace; elaboration of a detailed concept for the collection exhibition in the “Weissenstein” wing
Auftraggeber: Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel (mhk)
Team: Dieter Bogner, Ingrid Holzschuh
Jahr: 2008+
The preliminary concept is divided into two main sections. The first part, the spatial and functional programme, develops the basic spatial, functional and technical elements for an attractive new display of the art collections in combination with the historic private rooms in the “Weissenstein” wing. The second part develops an integrated model to combine the art historical collections (picture gallery, treasure art, antiques collection) with themed rooms providing in-depth information and giving an insight into the cultural and historical context of the collectors and their collections.
The detailed concept for the “Weissenstein” wing develops a narrative in the restored landgrave’s dwelling that is directly linked to the history of the princely builders of Wilhelmshoehe Palace and the lifestyle around 1800.
Fläche: 9,000 sq m exhibiton space
