Heaven and Earth in one hand (Round tour Residence/Cathedral), Salzburg (A)
Kategorie: Museum planning
Auftrag: Creation of a tour of the Domplatz (cathedral square) in the rooms of the Residence – Cathedral – Lange Galerie – Wallistrakt: Concept and project management; preparation and support of a negotiated procedure for the development of a Corporate Identity
Auftraggeber: Land Salzburg
Team: Dieter Bogner, Ingrid Holzschuh, Esra Wedam
Zeitraum: 2007+
Status: Under implementation
The new tour is a key element in the strategic museum concept developed by bogner.cc for Salzburg Province in 2006. Under the heading “Heaven and Earth in one hand”, the aim is to create an integrated experience of European dimensions at the heart of Salzburg. By combining the magnificent stately rooms of the Residence, the exquisite collections of the Residence Gallery, the ecclesiastical treasures of the Cathedral Museum, and the currently inaccessible holdings of St. Peter’s Abbey, the result is a unique tour of the interior of the buildings that make up Salzburg’s Domplatz, with wonderful views into the cathedral and the choir of the Franciscan Church as well as views out into the city and its environs.
The new connecting staircase, leading from the Residence Gallery to the north tower of the Cathedral, has been finished in Summer 2010, and was presented for the first time to the public at the „Long Night of Museums“ in October, 2010.
